Il prossimo giovedì 22 giugno si terrà la prima reunion d'oltreoceano degli alumni USI che vivono e lavorano negli USA, organizzata in collaborazione con Swissnex Boston grazie all'alumno Francesco Bortoluzzi (BA COM, 2012). All’incontro una trentina di alumni, un breve speech del Professor Paul Schneider e le storie di carriera americana di alcuni laureati USI.

• Tobias Lindenmann (Diploma Accademia, 2003) é diventato partner dello studio Adrian Streich Architekten AG di Zurigo.
• Philippe Chevrier (Quadriennio COM, 2000) è stato nominato Vice President Business Segment in Honeywell Aerospace in Arizona (USA).
• Laura Magon (BA in Scienze delle comunicazione, 2006 e Master in Marketing, 2008) dopo anni negli Stati Uniti lavorando per P&G come Brand Manager è tornata in Europa, sempre in P&G come Brand Manager a Ginevra.
• Stefano Larotonda (Diploma Accademia, 2007) ha ricevuto il premio giovani dell’Accademia Nazionale di San Luca (2015).

Passaggio di testimone alle Cerimonie di Laurea

Ad aprile e maggio si sono tenute le cerimonie di laurea delle facoltà di comunicazione ed economia dove tre laureati hanno portato la loro testimonianza di carriera: Claudia Von Gunten (MT, 2011) attualmente economista per l'Amministrazione cantonale, Patrizia Holzborn (Quadriennio ECO, 2001) oggi Group Finance Director per Le Creuset Group ed Alessio Manzan (Quadriennio ECO, 2001), Marketing Director del LAC.
A fine giugno si terrà a Mendrisio, la cerimonia di consegna dei diplomi di Architettura.

Ultimo mese ricco di riconoscimenti per l’USI

La Fondazione Camille e Henry Dreyfus ha annunciato che il prof. Michele Parrinello si è aggiudicato il Premio Dreyfus nelle Scienze Chimiche 2017.
Il prof. della Facoltà di scienze informatiche Michael Bronstein è stato nominato “Radcliffe fellow”, tra i riconoscimenti più prestigiosi e competitivi degli Stati Uniti.
Qualche settimana più tardi la Fondazione Robert Koch ha comunicato di aver attribuito al prof. Antonio Lanzavecchia il Robert Koch Award 2017 per le sue ricerche pionieristiche nel campo dell’immunologia.

Filosofia, intelligenza artificiale, software e tecnologie per la finanza: da settembre 4 nuovi master all’USI

Il prossimo anno accademico si aprirà all’insegna dell’innovazione: da settembre l’offerta formativa dell’USI a livello di master si arricchirà infatti di quattro nuovi percorsi, in quattro ambiti molto diversi tra di loro, accumunati dalla stessa attenzione critica rispetto al pensiero dell’uomo e agli sviluppi della tecnologia.

New York welcomes USI graduates

The first USI Alumni reunion across the Atlantic for alumni living and working in the US will be held on Thursday, June 22nd. This event is organised in collaboration with Swissnex Boston, thanks to our graduate Francesco Bortoluzzi (BA in Communication Sciences, 2012). About 30 alumni will take part in the event that will feature an introductory speech by Professor Paul Schneider and American career stories of USI graduates.
Are you in the US? You are welcome to join in and meet up with former USI students to further your network.

Grand Tour for Academy Alumni

The evening "Grand Tour 1 - Travel as Research" was held in Mendrisio on May 24th, with the participation of Federica Giovannini and Aldo Celoria, who were among the first students to graduate in architecture in 2002.

Passing of the baton at the graduation ceremony

In April and May, the Faculties of Communication Sciences and Economics held their graduation ceremony. On this occasion, three graduates shared their career experience: Claudia Von Gunten (Master in International Tourism, 2011) currently working as an economist for the Cantonal Administration, Patrizia Holzborn (Degree in Economics, 2001) currently Group Finance Director for Le Creuset Group and Alessio Manzan (Degree in Economics, 2001), Marketing Director at LAC.
The graduation ceremony at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio will be held in the end of June.

A month rich in achievements for USI

The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation has announced that the Dreyfus Prize 2017 in Chemical Sciences has been awarded to Prof. Michele Parrinello.
Michael Bronstein, Prof. at the Faculty of Informatics has been appointed “Radcliffe fellow”, that is considered among one of the most competitive and prestigious awards in the United States.
Weeks later, the Robert Koch Foundation assigned the 2017 Robert Koch Award to Prof. Antonio Lanzavecchia for his pioneering discoveries in the field of immunology.

Philosophy, artificial intelligence, software and financial technology: USI launches four new Master degrees

In September 2017, the new academic year at USI will open with four innovative graduate-level study programs, in different subject areas but with one thing in common: a prevailing critical focus on human thought and technological developments.
