Subhadeep Banik
Subhadeep Banik is an Ambizione fellow at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. He received the bachelor’s degree in electronics and electrical communication engineering and the master’s degree in automation and computer vision from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2006. He did his PhD in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata in 2014. Over the years he has been involved in research in low energy designs in cryptography and the related security implications and continues to work in this direction.

Philip Brisk
Philip Brisk receive his BS (2002), MS (2003), and PhD (2006) in Computer Science from UCLA. From 2006-2009 he was a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL. Since 2009, he has been with the University of California, Riverside, where he is now an Associate Professor (tenured). His research interests span all aspects of Computer Engineering, in particular VLSI/CAD and FPGAs and reconfigurable computing, which evolved into a general interest in microfluidics and laboratory automation.

Frank Gürkaynak
Frank has obtained his BSc. and M.Sc. degrees from Electrical and Electronical Engineering Department of the Istanbul Technical University and his Ph.D. from the Integrated Systems Laboratory (IIS) of ETH Zurich, where he is currently working as a senior scientist in the group of Prof. Benini as well as leading the Microelectronics Design Center which provides design tools, know-how and licenses for ASIC, FPGA, Embedded Systems and PCB design. His research interests include: Ultra-low-power processor design, Design and test of digital integrated circuits and system design, Cryptographic Hardware and Open Source Hardware.

Paolo Palmieri
Paolo Palmieri is a Lecturer in Cyber Security at the School of Computer Science, University College Cork, Ireland. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a PhD from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. His research in cyber security focuses on cryptography, privacy and anonymity, and his interests include secure computation, privacy-enhancing technologies, anonymity protocols, location privacy and security of smart cities.

Ilia Polian
Ilia Polian received a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 2003. He is currently a Full Professor and Director of the Institute for Computer Engineering and Computer Architecture (ITI) at the University of Stuttgart. Prior to that (between 2010 and 2017), Dr. Polian was Chair of Computer Engineering at the University of Passau, Germany, where he also served as the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics from 2013 to 2015. His research interests are on hardware security, robustness of circuits and systems, and emerging architectures. Dr. Polian co-authored around 200 publications and received two best paper awards. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
