HORIZON 2020 SME INSTRUMENT

The SME Instrument promotes SMEs’ innovation activities from concept to market. The Instrument addresses the financing needs of internationally oriented SMEs, in implementing high-risk and high-potential innovation ideas. It aims at supporting projects with a European dimension that lead to major changes in how business is done. It assists innovative SMEs to shape new markets, create growth, and achieve high return on investment.

ERC PROOF OF CONCEPT

The ERC Proof of Concept grants aim to miximise the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work (i.e. activities which were not scheduled to be funded by the original ERC frontier research grant) to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects. Proof of Concept Grants are therefore on offer only to Principal Investigators whose proposals draw substantially on their ERC funded research.

Swiss funding opportunities: information

SNSF VISIT IN TICINO

In November 2017 the SNSF will visit higher education institutions in Lugano, Basel, Lausanne, Zurich and Geneva in order to present the SNSF funding schemes to researchers.

The visit in Ticino will be divided as follows:

  • 7 November, Morning: USI (Lugano campus)
  • 7 November, Afternoon: SUPSI (Manno)

During these visits, researchers will obtain a complete set of information on the main funding schemes (Project funding, career schemes, programmes, international cooperation and science communication. Questions will be answered directly by the people who manage the respective funding schemes at the SNSF.
