MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS INNOVATIVE TRAINING NETWORKS (ITN)

MSCA Innovative Training Networks aim to train early-stage researchers, supporting competitively selected joint research training and/or doctoral programmes, implemented by partnerships of universities, research institutions, and non-academic organisations through international, interdisciplinary and inter-sector mobility.

Switzerland is currently full eligible to take part in this action.

ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme.

ERC PROOF OF CONCEPT

ERC Proof of Concept Grants aim to maximise the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects.

All Principal Investigators in an ERC frontier research project, that is either on ongoing or has ended less than 12 months before the opening date of this call, are eligible to participate and apply for an ERC Proof of Concept Grant.

A cotutelle de thèse is a doctoral project that is carried out within the framework of a formalised agreement between two universities (a Swiss and a foreign university).

Cotutelle de thèse projects entail the following: preparation of the doctoral thesis under the joint direction of two supervisors; a reasonable distribution of the time spent by the doctoral candidate at each institution; a joint defence of thesis; the awarding of a joint diploma or of two separate diplomas with a reference to the cotutelle de these cooperation with the partner university.

CTI: NATIONAL THEMATIC NETWORKS IN INNOVATION

After the successful establishment of national thematic networks (NTNs) in 2013, the CTI is now launching its second competitive call. The purpose of an NTN is to bring together science and economy players of a clearly delineated topic area, both nationally and internationally.

In addition to applicants representing new topic areas, all currently existing NTNs must also reapply using the application form.

EUROSTARS: INTERNATIONAL INNOVATIVE PROJECTS LED BY R&D-PERFORMING SME

Eurostars is a transnational research programme that supports research-performing, innovative SMEs to gain competitive advantage. It is an intergovernmental research programme, meaning that partners are funded by their national agencies of reference (the SERI for Switzerland).

Research projects funded within the framework of Eurostars have to involve at least three partners form at least two different Eurostars countries.
