INFORMATION EVENT ON PROGRAM SUC P-2 "SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION: ACCESS, PROCESSING AND SAFEGUARDING"

SUC P-2 aims to build up a service network for the Swiss scientific community that enables easy access to publications and data, and at the same time provides tools for processing and safeguarding them. The program provides grants to be used as start-up funding: applicants must supplement the federal grant with their own funding (“matching funds”).

The program management of SUC P-2 will present the program to interested parties in Ticino. This will also be an opportunity for potential applicants to discuss project ideas with the program management.

The information event will take place on the 26th November 2014 from 12.30 to 14.00 at USI, Lugano Campus, room 250. A sandwich lunch will be organized for participants from 12.00.

SWISS-SWEDISH INNOVATION INITIATIVE:4TH BILATERAL CALL FOR R&D PROJECT OUTLINES

The aim of this funding scheme is to fund market-oriented Swiss-Swedish R&D projects implemented by research consortiums consisting of Swiss-Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises, large industry, academia and research institutes.

The fourth bilateral Call is open to all topics of the Swiss-Swedish Innovation Initiative (SWII), but focuses on the development of innovative products and services within the life sciences as well as within smart materials. Click here for more information on specific topics.

ERC STARTING GRANTS

ERC Starting Grants support excellent researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD and having a scientific track record showing great promise. The ERC funds ground-breaking frontier research projects across all fields of science on the basis of scientific excellence.

Please note that researchers at Swiss host institutions are again fully eligible for ERC funding.

R4D PROGRAMME: 2ND THEMATICALLY OPEN CALL ON GLOBAL ISSUES

The main focus of the "Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development" (r4d Programme) lies on the generation of new insights and innovative approaches aiming to reducing poverty and global risks as well as providing public goods.

The current open call is "thematically open", meaning that a "bottom-up" approach is applied.

Cosortia have to be composed of at least one research partner from Switzerland and one research partner from one of the least developed countries listed in the call announcement.

H2020 ICT 2015: CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The H2020 ICT 2015 call has been published with a budget of €561 million. The 15 topics cover numerous European challenges such as, but not limited to, components & systems; advanced computing; Future Internet; content technology and information management; robotics; micro- and nano-electronic technologies; photonics.

COST will launch a new call for proposals during the month of November 2014. Proposals may be then be submitted as of January 2015.
