MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIPS

MSCA Individual Fellowships support experienced researchers undertaking a research stay abroad, either in a EU Member State/ Associated Country or outside Europe.

Research topics are not defined by the European Commission but are chosen freely by the researchers.

Switzerland is currently fully eligible to take part in this call.

FET OPEN 2015: NOVEL IDEAS FOR RADICALLY NEW TECHNOLGIES

FET Open is a bottom-up scheme open to all disciplines that allow exploring novel and visionary ideas without pre-conceived boundaries. It is a scheme specifically designed to be open and continuously responsive to novel ideas.

This programme supports early stage, high-risk visionary collaborative research projects having a long-term vision and exploring new, radical and breakthrough scientific and technological possibilities.

Swiss funding opportunities: open calls for proposals and information events

HASLER FOUNDATION: SEVERAL FUNDING SCHEMES AVAILABLE

Hasler Foundation provides its support by financing or co-financing selected educational, research and innovation projects and undertakings in the field of ICT. Namely, the following funding schemes are available:

Innovation projects, targeting Master and PhD graduates.

Standard projects, aiming to supplement the support for research available in Switzerland from the SNSF and the CTI.

Small projects, whose funding request does not exceed CHF 50,000 and may be in connection to SNF or CTI projects (note that there is no specific deadline for submitting small projects).

SNIS: CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL GENEVA INCUBATOR WORKSHOPS 2015

The Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS) offers a yearly grant to support joint workshops that foster collaboration between International Organisations and Swiss academics in the domain of international studies.

The grants amount to a maximum of CHF 5’000.- per event and can be applied to by Swiss Academia together with International Organisations.

AGORA - TAKING RESEARCH TO THE PUBLIC

The Agora scheme aims to promote the spread of knowledge, as well as the exchange of views and perspectives about scientific research. It therefore encourages projects generating dialogues between researchers and the public.

Grants of between CHF 5,000 and CHF 200,000 are awarded for both small communication formats and large-scale initiatives with more far-reaching goals.

IBSA Foundation grants postdoctoral fellowships in the following medical fields:

INFORMATION EVENT ON CTI PROJECTS IN THE ENABLING SCIENCES

The USI-SUPSI Research Service organizes a meeting with Mr. Alain Tanner, who is responsible for the Enabling Sciences Section at the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) Secretariat. The meeting will focus on projects types that fall under the enabling sciences category.

Participants will have the opportunity to know about several different aspects that concern CTI projects in the enabling sciences and to clarify any doubt with our guest directly. Furthermore, there will be the possibility to have one-to-one meetings with the speaker.

The event will take place on Monday the 22nd of June 2015 and will consist of two identical sessions. The first one will be held at SUPSI (from 9.00 to 12.00) while the second one will take place at USI (from 14.00 to 16.30).

LITHUANIAN–SWISS COOPERATION PROGRAMME – INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP PROJECTS

The Lithuanian-Swiss cooperation programme aims to establish links and friendly relationships between the two countries, to encourage successful and productive cooperation in the field of research and development, deepen knowledge in certain areas and to stimulate inter institutional collaboration, thus contributing to social and economical development of Lithuania.

Joint research projects proposals have to concern one of the following fields: Environmental Science and Technology, Health/Life Sciences, and Natural Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Technology, and Agricultural Sciences.

BIODIVERSA 2015 JOINT PROGRAMME

The ERA-Net BiodivERsA aims to build a dynamic, sustainable platform to identify the most pressing strategic issues for biodiversity and ecosystem services. Projects in the following themes can be submitted:

Theme 1: Understanding and managing the biodiversity dynamics of soils and sediments to improve ecosystem functioning and delivery of ecosystem services.

Theme 2: Understanding and managing biodiversity dynamics in land-, river- and seascapes (habitat connectivity, green and blue infrastructures, and naturing cities) to improve ecosystem functioning and delivery of ecosystem services.

Consortia have to be composed of at least 3 research partners from 3 different countries participating in the call.

PROMOTION OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS IN EASTERN EUROPE (PROMYS) GRANTS

The initiative "Promotion of Young Scientists in Eastern Europe" (PROMYS) is aimed at young researchers in Eastern Europe who have studied or worked in Switzerland for at least two years (as PhD students or Post-Doc researchers) and would like to continue their careers in a new Eastern European member state (NMS) of the EU.

A grant includes the researcher's salary (assistant professor level), a research grant, employees salaries. The duration of funding is limited to five years.

EUREKA - ITEA3

ITEA is the EUREKA Cluster programme supporting innovative, industry-driven, pre-competitive R&D projects in the area of Software-intensive Systems & Services (SiSS), a key driver of innovation in Europe's most competitive industries.

Project consortia need to have at least two different partners from two different countries, of which one must be a EUREKA Member Country and another one either a EUREKA Member Country or a EUREKA Associated Country.

Funds have to be raised at national level and rules defined by the national funding agency of reference have to be respected. For an overview of Swiss funding agencies that may be involved, click here.
