PARTICIPATION OF FOREIGN RESEARCH PARTNERS IN CTI PROJECTS

As of  2014, the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) allows in some cases participation and funding of foreign research partners in R & D projects.

Conditions to be satisfied are the following:

  • the foreign research partner can take part into a CTI project as an additional research partner only, whereas the main research partner and the main implementation partner have to be Swiss
  • the integration of a foreign research partner is essential in order to perform the project and similar knowledge and skills are not available in Switzerland

Open calls for proposals

"POLITICS AND SCIENCE" GRANTS

These grants provide the opportunity to spend a year working  at the "Palais du Parlement" in Bern and to become familiar with the Swiss politcal process and working methods. They are mainly intended for researchers wishing to take up a career in the field of mediation between politics and science.

RARE DISEASES – NEW APPROACHES

This programme is aimed at bridging the worlds of basic and clinical research. Proposed projects should lead to a better understanding of the genetic, molecular and biochemical processes underlying these diseases and pave the way towards new diagnostics and new forms of treatment. The focus must be on innovation, feasibility and effectiveness, while attaining high scientific and technological standards.

This funding scheme is promoted by Gebert Rüf Stiftung and targets researchers at Swiss universities, university hospitals, federal institutes of technology, research institutions affiliated with Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences.

AGORA - COMMUNICATING WITH THE PUBLIC

Agora supports researchers from all disciplines and career stages wishing to communicate with the public. The scheme aims to promote the spread of knowledge as well as the exchange of views and perspectives about scientific research. It therefore encourages projects aiming to generate dialogues between researchers and the public.

The call is open to researchers working at a Swiss institution and to experts in the field of communication, knowledge transfer, education and the arts.
