Horizon 2020: main open calls for proposals

ERC PROOF OF CONCEPT GRANTS 2017

The ERC Proof of Concept Grants aim to maximise the value of the excellent research that the ERC funds, by funding further work to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects.

All Principal Investigators in an ERC frontier research project, that is either on going or has ended less than 12 months before the opening date of this call, are eligible to participate and apply for an ERC Proof of Concept Grant.

The financial contribution will be up to a maximum of EUR 150 000 for a period of 18 months.

MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS "RESEARCH AND INNOVATION STAFF EXCHANGE" (RISE)

The RISE funding scheme fosters staff exchange between the academic and the non-academic sectors and between European and non-European countries.

Swiss funding opportunities: open calls for proposals

SNSF DOC.MOBILITY

Doc.Mobility fellowships of the SNSF enable doctoral students to write part of their PhD at a host institution abroad. These fellowships are awarded for 6 to 18 months.

Funding includes a grant towards living costs, a flat-rate for travel expenses and, if justified, a contribution towards research and conference costs as well as matriculation fees.

SNSF EARLY POSTDOC.MOBILITY

Early Postdoc.Mobility fellowships of the SNSF enable postdocs starting their career to spend a postdoc research stay abroad. In principle, these fellowships are awarded for 18 months, in justified cases for at least 12 months.

The grants include living costs, a flat-rate for travel expenses and, if justified, a contribution towards research and conference costs as well as matriculation fees.

SNSF DOC.CH IN THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

The Doc.CH grants in the humanities and social sciences (HSS) are awarded by the SNSF to promising researchers who wish to write a dissertation in the humanities and social sciences in Switzerland on a topic of their own choice.

Besides the salary of the doctoral student, the grant may include a contribution towards costs directly related to project implementation.

Sweden and Switzerland are jointly announcing a bilateral Call for outlines for joint innovation projects under all suitable EUREKA instruments. The Call focuses on the development of products and services within life sciences and smart products for automated transportation. The following subtopics have been identified:

  1. Life Science:
    • Drug development, vaccine development
    • Medical devices, diagnostics, biomaterials
