ERC Starting Grants support excellent researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD and having a scientific track record showing great promise. The ERC funds ground-breaking frontier research projects across all fields of science on the basis of scientific excellence.

INNOVATIVE MEDICINE INITIATIVE

The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) is Europe's largest public-private partnership aiming to improve the drug development process by supporting a more efficient discovery and development of better and safer medicines for patients.

Within the framework of IMI, the third and fourth calls for proposals have been launched.

3rd call topics:

  • Remote assessment of disease and relapse (RADAR), topic 1: central nervous system (CNS)
  • Assessing risk and progression of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes to enable disease modification
  • Linking clinical neuropsychiatry and quantitative neurobiology
  • The consistency approach to quality control in vaccine manufacture
  • Pertussis vaccination research
  • Knowledge Repository to enable patient focused medicine development

4th call topic:

  • Enabling platform on medicines adaptive pathway to patients

ERC Consolidator Grants support excellent researchers of any nationality with over 7 and up to 12 years of experience since completion of PhD and having a scientific track record showing great promise.
The ERC funds ground-breaking frontier research projects across all fields of science on the basis of scientific excellence.

Please note that Switzerland is again fully eligible for ERC funding schemes.

ERC STARTING AND CONSOLIDATOR GRANT APPLICANTS TRAINING

Euresearch Lugano is pleased to invite you to a training for ERC grant application aiming to give information and tips on the different parts of the proposal.

Participants are expected to work on a submission to the 2015 Starting or Consolidator Grant call (deadline 3 February and 12 March 2015, respectively) and be familiar with the information contained in the Work Program and Information for Applicants.

The workshop will take place on January 13, 2015, from 13:00 to 16:30 at USI, room 402.

Swiss open calls for proposals

PRECOR - FUNDING PRECOMPETITIVE RESEARCH

precoR supports research projects with a focus on basic scientific achievements which enable the development of a future commercial application. In this sense, this initiative aims to encourage pre-competitive research.

The precoR initiative 2014/2015 is limited to proposals in materials science or fabrication technology.

International and bilateral open calls for proposals

SINO-SWISS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY COOPERATION PROGRAM

The Sino-Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation (SSSTC) program aims to foster research cooperation between Swiss and Chinese institutions.

Funding schemes currently available are the following:

Stepping Stone Symposia or other Workshops: aiming to lay the basis for future Sino-Swiss cooperations. Call currently open.

Exchange Grants (EG): aiming to provide funding for personnel exchanges, which shall enable future research collaborations. The call will be open in December 2014.

Follow-up Grants: providing a small sum of funding (less than CHF 10’000.--) for personnel exchanges or publication costs for previous successful SSSTC projects. Call currently open.

Czech Republic and Switzerland are jointly announcing a bi-lateral Call for outlines for joint innovation projects under EUREKA and Eurostars. The Call is open for all topics, but focuses on medical technologies (devices and medical diagnostics), Manufacturing (intelligent manufacturing, efficient design and modeling, automation) and ICT (software intensive systems, intelligent applications).

For Swiss partners, the main funding agency of reference is the Commission for Technology and Innovation.

EUROGIA2020, as a EUREKA Cluster, is committed to enhancing the competitiveness of European industry through the promotion of cross-border, market-oriented industrial innovation, especially with reference to the development of Low-Carbon Energy Technologies.
