Horizon 2020: main open calls for proposals and information events

ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS FOR EUROPEAN LEADERSHIP (ECSEL) CALL 2015

ECSEL is the new partnership between the private and the public sectors for advancing the state-of-the art in electronic components and systems.

Within this framework, two concurrent calls are open:

  • Research and Innovation Actions (RIA)
  • Innovation Actions (IA)

Both calls have two evaluation stages (project outline stage and full project proposals stage).

Swiss entities may participate in ECSEL calls as entities from an industrialized third country not associated to Horizon 2020. The Swiss Government will compensate the EU co-funding part.

MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIPS

MSCA Individual Fellowships support experienced researchers undertaking a research stay abroad, either in a EU Member State/ Associated Country or outside Europe.

Research topics are not defined by the European Commission but are chosen freely by the researchers.

Switzerland is currently fully eligible to take part in this call.

This workshop is geared towards postdocs and researchers that wish to boost their career with an experience in research at the European and International level as well as for foreign researchers that would be interested in working within a Swiss institution for a limited time.

As this is a training, participants should be familiar with Individual Fellowships and their eligibility.

INFORMATION EVENT: EU RESEARCH PROJECTS WITHIN HORIZON 2020 IN THE AREA OF HEALTH

The event will inform about funding opportunities for collaborative EU research projects within Horizon2020 in the area of Health research. International and bilateral calls for proposals

SEED MONEY GRANTS FOR PROJECTS WITH SEVERAL LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES

The Seed Money Grant seeks to initiate or intensify research collaboration between Switzerland and Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

The project proposals should seek to achieve the following objectives:

  • intensify interaction and scientific cooperation between Swiss scientists or institutions and those of these countries
  • establish or reinforce research partnerships of mutual interest and benefit
  • develop a joint project proposal to be submitted to other funding agencies

The call is open to all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The maximum granted amount for one project is CHF 25,000.

STCP BETWEEN SWITZERLAND AND THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO: JOINT RESEARCH PROJECTS

The Scientific and Technological Cooperation Programme between Switzerland and the State of Rio de Janeiro (STCPSRJ) enable researchers in Switzerland to collaborate with a partner in the federal state of Rio de Janeiro.

The following topics are addressed in the call:

  • Neglected diseases
  • Chemistry, with a focus on clean technologies or nanotechnology
  • Urban development

KOREA – SWITZERLAND CALL FOR JOINT R&D PROJECT OUTLINES

Korea and Switzerland are announcing a bilateral call for joint R&D project outlines, focusing on developing innovative products and applications in market oriented technological and application areas.

For Swiss partners, funding agencies are the CTI and the SERI (depending on the project type). Please, note that some kind of co-funding is in principle required. More details are available in the call announcement.

EUROSTARS

Eurostars is a transnational research programme that supports research-performing, innovative SMEs to gain competitive advantage.

Research projects funded within the framework of Eurostars have to involve at least three partners from at least two different Eurostars countries.

Eurostars is an intergovernmental research programme, meaning that partners are funded by their national agencies of reference. For Switzerland, the funding agency is the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).

EURIPIDES

Euripides is one of the EUREKA 'Clusters' that are long-term, strategically significant industrial initiatives. They usually have a large number of participants, and aim to develop generic technologies of key importance for European competitiveness. Euripides is focused on Smart System functionalities and Process and components technologies.

This programme aims to bridge and coordinate research in the partner countries. Funds have to be raised at national level and rules defined by the national funding agency of reference have to be respected.
