ERC TEMPORARY BACKUP SCHEMES: SNSF CONSOLIDATOR GRANTS

ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support researchers at the stage at which they are consolidating their own independent research team or programme (between 7 and 12 years after award of PhD).

Since researchers based at Swiss institutions are currently not allowed to apply for an ERC consolidator grant, the SNSF has implemented an equivalent funding instrument. This funding tool is also available for researchers based abroad who would like to do research in Switzerland.

INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIPS UNDER MARIE SKLODOWSKA

Individual Fellowships form the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) aim to award experienced scientists (postdocs) who want to strengthen their career through mobility within or outside Europe.

In the light of recent Swiss political developments, candidates of Swiss nationality are still allowed to apply whereas Swiss institutions cannot host MSCA fellowships.

INFORMATION ON SWISS PARTICIPATION IN HORIZON 2020

With regards to the fact that Switzerland is considered as a Third Country for the H2020 calls that are currently open for submission, the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) has published a statement listing the concrete implications of the new situation as well as their recommendations on how to proceed, especially with regard to proposals that are currently being prepared.

SNIS AWARD 2014 FOR THE BEST THESIS IN INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

The SNIS Award has been established to encourage outstanding young research scientists at the beginning of their careers. The SNIS Award will be given for the best PhD thesis received in a Swiss University in 2013 on a subject related to International Studies.

AMBROS LüTHI FOUNDATION PRIZE

R'EQUIP 2014

The SNSF awards R’Equip grants in all scientific disciplines for the acquisition, modernisation and development of large-scale research equipment.

A grant pays for the acquisition of equipment worthing at least CHF 100,000. It generally covers up to 50% of the acquisition costs and amounts to a maximum of CHF 1 million.

The NRP 68 programme is looking for:

AMBIENT ASSISTED LIVING (AAL) JOINT PROGRAMME

Within the framework of the AAL Joint Programme, a new call for proposals has been launched:

CARE FOR THE FUTURE - An Ageing society faces an increasing need for care, how will ICT contribute to sustainable solutions?

Cosortia have to be composed of at least three different organizations from three different AAL Partner States participating in the Call. They also have to include at least an SME as business partner and an end-user organization.

GENDER EQUALITY GRANTS FOR YOUNG WOMEN RESEARCHERS: PRE-CALL ANNOUNCEMENT

As of mid-April, women working in projects or benefiting from career funding schemes at doctoral or postdoctoral level will be entitled to a gender equality grant for measures such as mentoring, coaching or networking meetings.
