EMScom Alumni Roundtable: "Employer Branding: why communications professionals should get involved", Tuesday, October 25

For more than a decade, employer branding has been a much discussed topic in the communications, HR and branding communities. There is a growing understanding that sourcing and retaining talent is more than HR marketing. Rather it is a core element of positioning an organization in the market. Although the topic is strongly linked to corporate communications, communications experts usually play a minor role in high profile employer branding projects. The Roundtable hosted by Farner Consulting addresses the role communications professionals can and should play in developing an authentic employer positioning and implementing a sustainable employer brand.

The event will take place on Tuesday, October 25 at 18:30 at Farner Consulting AG (Löwenstrasse 2, 8001 Zürich) and will be followed by an apéro.

Survey: presentation of results and general consideration

Earlier this year the Alumni Association Board conducted an alumni survey to find out more about their expectations and feelings toward the Association. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to give us their input.

All of the data collected has now been analyzed and the detailed results will be presented at the next Annual General Meeting in January 2017. The survey explored the following areas:

- The reputation of the EMScom Alumni Association and its drivers (where the focus needs to go)
- Impacts on the bottom line for the Association
- Services of interest for members
- Strategic priorities for the engagement of the Association – what needs to be done more frequently and what is not regarded as an added value

The Board was pleased to learn from the survey that the majority of respondents felt strongly that the events offered are in line with the wishes and needs of the alumni members, however the data from the survey will help the Board shape future offerings that better reflect the expectations of the alumni community.
